SPOKANE – On Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at approximately 2:21 p.m., the Washington State Patrol responded to a two-vehicle crash approximately nine miles south of Spokane on State Route 195.
According to an incident summary from the WSP, both 54-year-old Jeannette Lavance and 61-year-old Eric Lavance, of Lewiston, were traveling southbound on SR195 when their vehicle reportedly crossed over the center line and collided with a vehicle traveling northbound on SR195. The crash reportedly occurred near milepost 77, just outside of Spangle, WA.
According to the WSP, Jeannette Lavance was pronounced deceased at the scene. Eric Lavance was transported to Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
32-year-old Phillip Provoncha, of Greenacres, WA, who was driving the vehicle traveling northbound that was struck, was not injured.
WSP states all involved were wearing seatbelts.
